Mavericks at Half Moon Bay

David & I went for a Sunday drive out to Half Moon Bay, which is about 20 minutes from the house. David loves going out there to watch the waves at this famous surfing spot called Mavericks. From what he tells me, there's been waves over 100 feet high at this place and there's an annual pro surfing event here. It is quite fun to make the short beach hike and watch these massive waves crash against the rocks. David is getting really anxious to hit up the beach this summer. I think I would be excited too if I could handle the seawater.
Here's some more pictures from out trip to Mavericks today. One of the pier and the other of the rocks in front of Mavericks.
I like going to Half Moon Bay to see these small farm roadside stands selling fresh produce along the highway. These quaint farms sell all sorts of produce including flowers, pumpkins and christmas trees. They decorate their stands for all of the different seasons, however, Half Moon Bay is the location of a huge annual Pumpkin Festival and they go all out! Thes small stops practically become amuzement parks during the fall. I posted the picture below so you can get a small idea of how fun it was to go and pick out a pumpkin last year.

Oh I miss the beach! When Tyler and I lived in San Diego, we would go to the same beach every Sunday and just listen to the waves crash. It was so much fun. Too bad the beaches in Washington are freezing cold! Hopefully we'll be able to make it to the beach this summer with the boys!

I miss the beach too. We have Utah Lake, but it's just not the same. :)Aren't those road-side stands the best? They're the closest thing to being on the farm and eating fresh produce in the middle of the city.

Looks like fun! Was that pumpkin stand a recnt shot or one from Halloween? It's pretty cool looking nonetheless( one the less)? How do you spell that out anyway? Tell Davy I said "What up Gangsta"
